My morning yoga practice has left me in a serene and grateful state of mind that I pray I can carry with me today and can bring back each morning on the yoga mat. My set today ended in a challenging, fun, heart-opening pose called “wild thing,” reminding me to keep a strong foundation while still enjoying life and giving of myself. This was just what I needed as I’ve felt myself drowning in waves of thoughts recently. I heard something once about “compulsive thinking” (I think it was in Eckhart Tolle’s “The Power of Now”) and that is just what I’ve been doing recently. This is not to say that I’ve been bogged down my heavy thoughts or emotions. It just means my mind has been on hyper speed and my awareness has been in hibernation. Time to refocus!

So, big changes recently! I just moved into a cute little house near downtown with two friends. We looked for a place for so long, and then, within a matter of days, we had found a place, toured it and signed a lease. I'm half way moved in and can’t wait to settle into it this weekend. I’m hoping this move will make me more self reliant, and I’m so looking forward to having fun with my roommates and entertaining friends there. This is an exciting time right now! And, the address is 1101 – haha!
Also, I am now the denim specialist of my department at Dillard’s, which is a step up! With this new title, I have the opportunity to win free denim, money, gift cards, trips and more as I meet sales goals and keep promoting our amazing jeans. I already got one free pair of jeans!
Moving out and a mini-promotion – It feels like I really am growing up! I gave up refined sugar for over a month recently. That proved my self-will, so now I’m determined to use my self-discipline to achieve bigger personal and career goals. With all these changes recently, I’m ready to kick myself into gear. Let’s go!
