Yesterday morning was the kind where you stay in bed as long as possible because you are afraid that if you get up, you'll forget the dream you just had. I laid in bed, wide awake, for a full hour. The dream was that incredible - I flew! My family was renting a huge vacation home and throwing a fancy party. I left the the party, went into the attic, emerged onto the roof and jumped off into the crowd because in dream world that is clearly the safe and normal thing to do. The abnormal part was that I floated down hovering in the air for awhile. So, I jumped off again and stayed in the air even longer. On the third jump, I flew!! It was absolutely fantastic spinning, diving and soaring through the sky - euphoric! What's funny is that I flew above the sea of people for hours, and the only person that noticed was my best friend, Benjamin, who came to visit. He held onto this woman that could also fly, and the three of us flew straight up into the clouds. Pure liberation! Flying plus seeing my best friend equals the best dream ever.

It turns out that sixty extra minutes huddled in blankets pressing snooze was unnecessary - The dream stayed vivid throughout the entire day. But, I'll just say that was a special case - a first flight dream exception - and next time I have such a fantastic dream, I'll be forced to remain in bed for as long as possible savoring the dream fragments. Oh, remembering dreams is such a burden! :)
awesome!! your dreams are so vivid! how is benjamin doing?
ReplyDeleteIt was such a good dream - still thinking about it daily! I haven't talked with Ben in quite a while, but I trust he is doing well. :)
